Officials say there's progress on Moline Acres towers

MOLINE ACRES, Mo. - Problems continue to plague Lewis and Clark Towers in Moline Acres, but officials say there's progress.

The elevators have been broken for weeks, and just Friday morning a water main break left residents and businesses in the building without water.

Riverview Fire Chief Joe Bommarito says an elevator company has been out and hopes they'll be working soon.

Business owner Andre Johnson says building owners cut off elevator access to his floor one year ago because he failed to pay condo fees.

"We explained in our proposal that we would contribute to it if we are respected with our elevator usage. We haven't been using it for a year. So why would we pay you if we can't use the elevator? That doesn't make sense," said business owner Andrew Johnson.

The mayor of Moline Acres says she's trying to work out a solution with the building's owners.
