ST. LOUIS, MO. - As some gave back this weekend by packing care packages for troops overseas, over 100 volunteers gathered Saturday to pack over 2,200 packages for men and women deployed overseas.
The Veiled Prophet Foundation, along with Operation Sunscreen, hosted the event for the second year in a row.
Organizers said they just want to make a difference.
"I want to know that if there's one soldier that needs to know that someone is thinking about them this holiday, and that keeps them safe, and making good decisions.," said Karin Irwin with Operation Sunscreen. "I want to make sure that that gets done."
The packages contain toiletries, snacks, and letters.
