Pedestrian struck by car remains critical

ST. LOUIS – A woman remains in critical condition after she was struck by a driver Saturday in north St. Louis.

The 34-year-old driver told police she was driving northbound on Union when she suddenly saw the 26-year-old victim in front of her vehicle. She hit the victim around 12:45 a.m. near the 1600 block of Union, and remained at the scene until authorities arrived.

The victim was taken to an area hospital where she is listed as critical.

Police say the driver and her two passengers were not injured.
