People try to steal Army veteran's Trump sign

An army veteran fights back against would-be thieves trying to steal his Donald Trump sign.

An army veteran is fighting back against would-be thieves trying to steal his Donald Trump sign, and the latest attempt to steal it was caught on video.

Someone has tried to steal this sign three times from the front yard of a home in Chesterfield, so the Donald Trump supporter decided to take matters into his own hands by setting up a surveillance camera.

"It's irritating because it's our right as United States citizens to be able to voice our opinion on how we want to vote," said Mike Horton of Chesterfield.

But the would-be thief seen in the security footage from last Thursday didn't get very far, because the homemade Donald Trump sign is padlocked to a cord that Horton beat into the ground himself.

Last Thursday was the third time in about a month Horton and his wife found the sign on the ground.

Police said there isn't a rash of political sign thefts in Chesterfield, but they are aware of this situation. As for Horton, he says he has backup signs in case anyone does get away with the ones that he has.
