Police identify woman killed in weather-related accident

ST. LOUIS COUNTY – St. Louis County police have identified a woman killed in a car accident Friday.

Police say they were called to Telegraph Road at the Meramec River Bridge around 12 p.m. for a report of a two-vehicle accident involving a passenger car and a heavy-duty pickup truck.

The driver of the passenger car, 46-year-old Sharon Barteau of Arnold, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her 8-year-old daughter was taken to a area hospital for treatment of critical injuries.

Police say the driver of the truck was not injured.

Weather conditions are believed to be the cause of the accident.
