Police looking for woman driving red SUV in hit-and-run

Anyone with information can call (636) 278-1000.

ST. PETERS - Police are looking for the woman witnesses said was driving a red SUV that hit a 13-year-old on a bike before leaving the scene Sunday.

St. Peters Police said the boy was hit while riding past the exit of the parking lot of the Dairy Queen on the 1000 block of St. Peters Howell Road in St. Peters, Missouri, just before noon Sunday. Police said they believed the woman was looking at traffic in the other direction before making the turn out of the lot and hitting the boy.

The surveillance video — which has the incorrect timestamp — shows the red SUV hitting the boy and knocking him off his bike before she drove away. The boy only suffered an arm injury. His two friends stopped before reaching the exit and were not hurt.

Police said the red SUV should have minor to moderate front-end damage.

Anyone with information is asked to call Officer Jake Bass at (636) 278-2244 ext. 6389. Anonymous reports can be submitted at the Crime Solvers Hotline at (636) 278-1000.
