Police: Man grabbed Florissant woman on porch

FLORISSANT, Mo. (KSDK) – A 39-year-old Riverview man faces a misdemeanor charge of false imprisonment after allegedly grabbing a woman who had walked outside to change a lightbulb on her porch.

The incident happened early Tuesday morning. Police say the victim heard a noise outside her home on Redwood Drive. She initially believed it was her cat trying to get in, so she opened the door.

Police say the woman then noticed that her porch light was out and it was missing a light bulb. When she came back outside with a replacement, authorities say the suspect – identified as Germaine Shaw – grabbed her and tried to pull her through the doorway.

Her husband heard the struggle and ran outside, but when he appeared, police say Shaw ran away.

Police found Shaw a short time later with a light bulb in his pocket and his genitals exposed. The victim identified Shaw as her attacker.

Shaw is currently being held on a $25,000 cash-only bond.
