Police officer attacked by dog

ST. LOUIS – A St. Louis police officer has been released from the hospital after he was attacked by a dog.

Investigators say the officer was responding to a call in the 4700 block of Ashland Court when a pit bull bit him twice, once on the arm and once on the hand.

The officer opened fire, grazing the dog with two bullets. The officer was treated and released from the hospital.

The dog was later caught by animal control.
