Poplar Bluff woman charged in deadly fire

Police say 41-year old Tara Maxfield admitted to starting Sunday's fire on purpose, at an apartment building in Poplar Bluff.

POPLAR BLUFF, MO. - A Poplar Bluff woman was charged after police said she set a deadly fire Sunday.

Police said 41-year-old Tara Maxfield admitted to starting Sunday's fire on purpose at an apartment building on the 700 block of Poplar Street in Poplar Bluff.

Firefighters pulled 57-year old Tommy Younger from the building. He later died at a hospital.

Maxfield was charged with first-degree arson and second-degree murder.
