ST. CHARLES COUNTY, Mo. – A bill calling for an election to amend the St. Charles County charter to prohibit red light cameras will be introduced at the county council meeting Monday.
The bill, requested by District 2 councilmember Joe Brazil, would allow residents to vote to keep red light cameras out of incorporated and unincorporated areas of St. Charles County.
Brazil says he requested the bill because he doesn't think the cameras are beneficial to county residents.
If the ordinance is approved by the county council, it will appear on the Aug. 5, 2014 ballot.
