Rockwood Schools perform disaster training

ST. LOUIS COUNTY - Teachers and other staff in the Rockwood School District spent part of the day getting a lesson themselves.

On Friday, Metro West firefighters, along with police officers and EMS from all over the area, helped train the staff for how to deal with a disaster.

Thirty-eight people went through the exercises at Selvidge Middle School in Ballwin. Trainers say the more than 20 hours of overall training teaches people how to deal with fire, earthquake and chemical injuries.

The group plans to train 62 more staff members next week.
