Slay calls for higher tobacco age in city

ST. LOUIS - St. Louis city could become the next to raise the legal smoking age to 21.

Earlier this week, the St. Louis County Council approved a law that makes it illegal for anyone under 21 to buy any kind of tobacco or e-cigarette.

Mayor Francis Slay took to Twitter to applaud the move, and says he will sign the same bill if the aldermen send it to his desk.
