St. Charles approves texting, driving ban

ST. CHARLES, Mo. – The St. Charles City Council approved a texting and driving ban for all ages Tuesday night.

Currently, state law makes it illegal for drivers 21 and younger to text and drive, but Coucnilman Ron Stivison wanted to extend that to all ages.

The Council approved the measure 9-1.

Several other communities, including Florissant, Kirkwood, Manchester and St. John, in the area have similar laws.
