St. Charles looks at banning texting, driving

ST. CHARLES, Mo. – City of St. Charles leaders will lay the groundwork Tuesday night for a new ban on texting and driving.

Right now, Missouri law makes it illegal for drivers 21 and younger to text behind the wheel.

But Councilman Ron Stivison wants to extend that to all drivers in St. Charles, regardless of age.

Several other communities, including Florissant, Kirkwood, Manchester and St. John, in the area have similar laws.
