St. Louis ranks 9th for most literate cities in America

ST. LOUIS (KSDK) – St. Louis area residents are some of the most literate in the country, according to a recent study released Thursday.

The city ranked 9th as one of America's most literate cities, according to Central Connecticut University's annual study.

The study looks at six indicators of citizens' use of literature including booksellers, educational attainment, Internet resources, library resources, newspaper circulation and periodical publishing resources. The study also compares population rates of each city.

Washington D.C. ranked as No. 1, followed by Seattle, Wash. and Minneapolis, Minn. For the full list, check out the CCSU website.
