ST. LOUIS, MO. - St. Louis startup company Pixel Press announced Wednesday a new partnership with Mattel to manufacture and distribute Pixel Press’ new video game builder Bloxels. Bloxels is a hands-on platform for kids to build, collaborate and tell stories through video game design.
“Bloxels cultivates imagination while encouraging discovery and experimentation,” said Robin Rath, CEO and co-founder of Pixel Press. “We are so excited to partner with Mattel and bring Bloxels to a wide audience for all to enjoy, learn and create.”
Pixel Press is just one of dozens of companies supported by Accelerate St. Louis, a regional organization that provides entrepreneurs with the connections, insights, and resources they need to realize their vision.
Bloxels is not just another video game, but a learning tool as well.
“We feel that we’ve given something really fun for kids to do that empowers them and makes them feel really great,” said Rob Bennet CTO of Pixel Press. “Every kids loves to play video games, this gives them the chance to do it, but at the same time maybe learn a little something along the way.”
Bloxels is currently available at Toys “R” US. Next month the box set will be available nationwide and will cost $49.99. The game's app is free to download now to your personal Apple or Android device.
