KSDK - Monday was a busy day at the St. Louis Zoo, and not just because of the huge crowds who came out in the nice weather.
Zoo officials had to search for a cheetah cub that escaped from an exhibit at the zoo.
They alerted visitors to go into buildings during the search, but the zoo was not evacuated. It happened around 10:45 a.m.
The cub was found a short time later, officials say, about 30 feet away from the exhibit. A zoo worker tranquilized the cub.
Officials say they’re trying to figure out how the cub got out. They say the cub was not hurt.
