KSDK -- A St. Louis man is giving special meaning to the word dope.
Derrick D. Harris is charged with possession of marijuana, after he was arrested by St. Louis Sheriff's Deputies at the Civil Courthouse downtown.
Court records show Harris was named by an ex-girlfriend as she sought an order of protection against him.
His court date was June 26th, and he had the subpoena to prove it.
He arrived on time at the courthouse, and deputies say he fumbled the subpoena from his pocket, to ask them where he should go. As he did that, a small bag of a green, leafy substance fell out of his pocket.
The deputy seized the bag, and it was proven to be marijuana.
Deputies took the man to the courtroom for his hearing, but his accuser never showed, and there was no reason for him to be there.
After the aborted hearing, Harris was arrested by St. Louis police.
