KSDK -- Police made an arrest in a robbery case in which a man robbed a video game store at gunpoint, claiming he needed a Playstation 3 to save his family.
St. John Police say the gun and Playstation 3 were recovered. Investigators say the suspect's family was never held hostage.
On August 13, St. John police say the suspect walked into EB Games on St. Charles Rock Road and picked out a video game. When he approached the counter and was being checked out by the clerk, he displayed a small handgun.
The clerk says that he told her his family was being held hostage and he needed a Playstation 3 to get them released. Before leaving the store, the clerk says he said to call police because his family needed help.
Police, who have a station near the store, arrived on the scene 37 seconds later but the subject had successfully fled.
