EAST ST. LOUIS, IL (AP) -- Police are investigating a break-in at the home of East St. Louis Mayor Alvin Parks.

Parks says no one was home during Friday's burglary. It appears that the thief or thieves broke a rear window to get inside the home and made off with a 42-inch flat-screen television.

Parks says that's the only item that's missing.

East St. Louis police detective Ricky Perry says the thief was likely someone who had been inside the home before because they knew where to cut the wire to the alarm system.

Perry says police have identified a "person of interest."

No one was in custody as of Monday.
