Prosecutors file charges in Beverly Hills murder

KSDK -- Prosecutors have filed charges against a Velda City man in connection to a murder in Beverly Hills.

Tracy Panus with the St. Louis County Police Department said Tommy L. Jackson, 18, is charged with second-degree murder, first-degree assault and two counts of armed criminal action in connection to the shooting death of Dontez Meriwether.

Meriwether was shot and killed in the 3500 block of Lincoln Avenue on October 4 at 11:50 p.m., according to St. Louis County Police.

Prosecutors said the suspect ran to 7024 Glenmore and allegedly told three me he needed gas to wash gunpowder off his hands because he had shot someone.

The St. Louis County Police Department had been assisting Beverly Hills Police with the investigation.
