KSDK -- Martin Luther King Jr. often said in conversation he would not live to see 40. He was assassinated when he was 39-years-old.

Forty years later, much has changed in America to the point where the first black President-elect is preparing for his inauguration.

On this particular King Holiday, NewsChannel 5 thought it fitting to travel across the St. Louis area and listen to those who've paid attention to Dr. King's message over the years.
