KSDK -- A 25-year-old local man was arrested and charged for allegedly robbing a shoe store Thursday afternoon, the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department said.
The robbery took place shortly after 4:50 p.m. in the 4900 block of Delmar Boulevard, according to Erica Van Ross, a Metro Police spokesperson. The suspect came in, announced a robbery and pulled out a pistol.
The two employees complied with the suspect's demands. The suspect also took a wallet from one of the employees before fleeing the scene on foot. Neither the employees nor a customer inside the store were injured.
Van Ross said officers arrested the suspect minutes later, just down the street from the scene.
The gun used during the robbery was recovered, Van Ross said, and had been reportedly stolen.
The Circuit Attorney's Office charged the suspect, identified as Kentrell Jones, with first-degree robbery and armed criminal action. Jones has 19 prior convictions for other crimes.
