According to police, the child's parents, who were both home at the time, had a window cracked to get some air. The sofa backs to the window and when the child apparently climbed up the back of the sofa he slipped and fell out the window.
The child's parents called 911 and he was conscious and breathing when paramedics arrived. He was taken to a hospital where he was diagnosed with a concussion.
Doctors expect him to recover and he is listed in fair condition. Van Ross said there were no signs of abuse or physical signs of neglect to the child.
