KSDK -- A man from rural Ironton was sentenced to six years in prison on animal abuse and assault charges, said R. Scott Killen, Iron County Prosecuting Attorney.

43-year-old Tony Hartwick was charged with animal abuse in July 2008 for dragging a horse behind an ATV. The horse, Mason, was transferred to the Humane Society of Missouri for veterinary care and rehabilitation.
