Local veteran's transitional home wins HGTV contest

KSDK -- A man with a big heart is rewarded for his dedication to helping others.

In January, NewsChannel 5's Heidi Glaus took you inside Hence Forland's home. He is retired from the army, but is still doing what he can to help fellow veterans.

Forland opened his home to fellow veterans trying to get back on their feet.

The house needed some serious repairs and now thanks to HGTV's Change the World contest the house is getting $40,000 dollars worth of repairs.
