
KSDK -- Although turnout is expected to be low for tomorrow's municipal elections, St. Louis election officials want those who do plan to take part to be informed.
"We are expecting about a 15% turnout for tomorrow's election, but we are doing everything possible to ensure that voters have the information they need to participate," said Scott Leiendecker, Republican Director of Elections.
Here's what you need to know:
Absentee Voting: An absentee ballot may be cast until 5:00 p.m. today , April 6, 2009, at the Board of Elections located at 300 North Tucker.
Election Day: The General Municipal Election will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2009.
The Polls: The polls are open from 6:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Your Polling Place: To find your polling place, look for your election notice card in the mail.
To Vote: Voters may present any of the following forms of personal identification: identification issued by the State of Missouri, a state agency, a local election authority, the U.S. Government, a federal agency or an institution of higher education located in Missouri; a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck or other government document that contains the voter's name and current address; a driver license or state ID issued by another state; or other identification approved by the Secretary of State.
Election Notice Cards: The St. Louis Elections Board mailed election notice cards to voters Tuesday March 24th. All registered voters should have received this card. If any registered voter did not receive their card they should contact the Board of Elections.
Due to a School Closing: In St. Louis, Walnut Park School will no longer be the polling place for Ward 27, Pct. 4. The new polling place is Northwest Middle School located at 5140 Riverview Blvd.
