KSDK -- Three people were taken into custody after a Warren County deputy found a gun in a vehicle outside Daniel Boone Elementary School.
Warren County Schools Superintendent Dr. John Long said police got a call for shots fired on the parking lot of Warrenton High School this afternoon. When Warrenton police arrived and investigated, they found no evidence of any gunfire. Schools were placed on lockdown as a precaution.
Acting on a vehicle description, a Warren County deputy located a car in front of the elementary school with a weapon inside.
Three people are being held by the sheriff's department. The police chief did not know if they attend the high school.
