You may not expect these noises to come from a normally quiet retirement community. But being at a Senior Wii Bowling Tournament is kind of like being at a high school football game. There are the star players, cheerleaders, and whether you win or lose, your team is always behind you.
This rowdy crowd from 3 local senior homes meets for eight straight weeks in the Fall and Spring to compete and play Wii bowling. It all started because of the senior care provider, Home Instead. The three homes that participate in the travelling league include Crestview Senior Living, Garden Villa South, and Sherbrooke Village.
The grand prize is one dollar, but seniors say they play just for fun.
