KSDK -- The St. Louis Athletica has not seen the fruits of its labor. Three games into the season, the team is still searching for its first win, not to mention its first goal.

"In every way we're dominating games. Physically we're better," said forward Eniola Aluko. "The other sides might say differently, but we certainly feel that way."

It's not simply a matter of missed opportunities; they've outshot their opponents by a 2-1 margin.

"Overall, I'm happy with the way we're playing. We're creating chances. I think we're putting an exciting brand of soccer out there," said midfielder Lori Chalupny.

Forward Melissa Tancredi echoes those sentiments.

"We create a lot of chances. We're a great team, we move the ball well, we create a lot of chances, we're dangerous; it's just that finishing through that we need to work on," she said.

They don't believe it has anything to do with schemes or formations; they just need some balls to bounce their way.

"As a forward...it's frustrating, but if you get more frustrated it's not going to happen for you and the goal just keeps shrinking. So we just have to relax, take our time and just really think about being simple and just getting the ball in," Tancredi said.

Taking it one step and one goal at a time, all while maintaining a positive attitude.

"It's early in the season, just three games in. We can still win this whole thing, without a doubt, I think as long as we believe that it can happen," said Chalupny.
