KSDK -- Franklin County prosecutors have struck a plea deal with a man charged with killing his father last year.
Adam Seamon, 20, was originally charged with first-degree murder, but pled guilty to second-degree murder.
He is accused shooting his 45-year-old father, Michael Seamon, with a shotgun at the family home between Union and Washington in April 2008.
Investigators said Seamon went to a neighbor's home and asked for a ride to Washington, Missouri. During the ride, the suspect allegedly confessed to hurting his father.
The neighbor contacted police who then went to the home and found the scene.
Prosecutors are asking for a 30-year prison sentence when Seamon is sentenced in August.
