Visitation today for Germantown soldier

KSDK -- The visitation will be held Friday afternoon for an Illinois soldier killed in Afghanistan last week.

The body of Staff Sergeant Josh Melton returned home yesterday.

His casket made its way to Germantown, Illinois in a procession of first responders, patriot guard riders, family and friends.

Staff Sgt. Melton leaves behind a wife and a one-year-old daughter.

The visitation will be at Moss Funeral Home in Germantown at 3:00 p.m.

Funeral Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday June 27, 2009 at 10:00 AM at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown. Interment will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Carlyle with full military honors.

Memorials can be made to his daughter, Aubrey Melton. The Aubrey Melton Trust Fund and will be received through the funeral home or Germantown Trust and Savings Bank
