KSDK -- Cardinals officials point-out that smokers and people hoping to bring snacks to Tuesday's All-Star Game may be facing more strict guidelines, since President Obama will be throwing out the first pitch.
A different set of rules applies since the All-Star Game is Major League Baseball's event.
Cardinals Stadium Operations Director Joe Abernathy said, Saturday, that since President Obama will be making an appearance at the All-Star Game, TSA rules will apply.
"No sharp objects, no weapons, no liquids, no bottles, no coolers," said Abernathy. "We normally allow bottles and snacks, bottled water and such, but this week we just won't be able to. They will allow bags in, but they'll need to be inspected, everything else, full-blown inspection, so the less you bring in the quicker you get in."
Abernathy says security rules will affect smokers, as well.
"Just remind smokers out there that we are a smoke-free building and because of the security rules, there will be no pass-outs. So we won't be allowing our guests to exit the building, have a smoke, and come back in. Major League Baseball rules just don't allow that."
