
KSDK -- While a great stretch of weather is on the way for the area Friday through Monday, the transition was more than a bit bumpy Thursday night.
A Flash Flood Warning in effect for Clay County, IL until 5:30 a.m. Amoung those areas likely to be affected by Flash Flooding are Flora, Parkersburg, Scnell and Xenia.
Severe storms produced between over one-inch sized hail, tree and power line damage in Washington County around 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
Later, 54 mile per hour winds were recorded in Hazelwood around 8:30 p.m.
Tornado warnings were issued late Thursday night for Marion and Wayne counties in Illinois. 51 mph winds were recorded at Marion Airport, and tree, power line and sign damage resulting from strong winds were reported in Salem, Illinois.
By 3 a.m. the storms will be out of the area and skies will begin to clear.
