UPDATED: AMBER Alert canceled for children in New Madrid

KSDK -- Investigators have canceled an AMBER Alert for two young siblings after they were safely found and the suspect was taken into custody.

According to the New Madrid County Sheriff's Department, the six-year-old girl and five-year-old boy were kidnapped by their father Monday night.

Investigators said the suspect had previously made threats against his children and law enforcement.

NewsChannel 5 is no longer releasing the names of the children because they are victims of a crime. The name of the suspect is also being withheld pending charges.
