(KSDK) -- While many of us slept last night, an estimated 12,000 bicyclists took to the streets of St. Louis for the "Moonlight Ramble."
Shortly after midnight, bike riders of all ages began a journey over 18 miles of St. Louis streets, but events surrounding the ride started much earlier.
The "Moonlight Ramble" is considered one of the largest and oldest night time bicycle rides in the world.
It's an annual fundraising event for the Gateway Council of Hostelling International.
