KSDK -- A south St. Louis man arrested in a Major Case Squad murder investigation in Warren County agreed to a plea deal.

Originally, Leon Steward, 25, was charged with first-degree murder. In exchange for the plea deal, he pled guilty to second-degree murder, assault, armed criminal action and endangering the welfare of a child.

Steward, 25, will serve 25 years in prison for the July 2008 shooting death of Jonathan Reid, 22, of Wright City and for injuring Sharon Bush, 59, also of Wright City.

Authorities said the shooting incident was the result of a dispute of Steward and Reid. Bush lived at the home in the 100 block of South Elm in Wright City where the shooting occurred.
