
KSDK -- A doctor from Carmi, Illinois pled guilty to three counts of illegally dispensing controlled substances.
According to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Illinois, Dr. Hung T. Nguyen dispensed Hydrocodene to undercover officers posing as patients at a healthcare clinic in Norris City. Dr. NGUYEN did so outside the scope of his professional practice and not for a legitimate medical purpose.
Dr. Nguyen will be sentenced December 16 and faces up to five years in prison and/or a maximum fine of $250,000.
