Bonne Terre Fire Department to undergo major reorganization

KSDK -- Firefighters with the Bonne Terre Fire Department will have to turn in their keys and equipment, and reapply for their jobs as the department undergoes reorganization beginning next week.

In a letter from the City Administrator, the fire department will no longer exist as it is currently known on September 28.

All firefighters must turn in their keys to the station house and all city-owned equipment. And any privately-owned equipment must have receipts prove ownership.

An inventory of all equipment and keys will take place Monday afternoon. Anyone who wants to apply for a job in the department may appear to receive a membership application.
