Area man indicted for threatening to kill President Obama

KSDK -- A Bowling Green, Missouri man was indicted on federal charges of making a threat to kill President Barack Obama.

According to the indictment, on August 3, 32-year-old Josh Randall McCallum mailed a letter threatening to kill the President of the United States. At the time he mailed the letter he was an inmate at the Northeast Correctional Center.

McCallum was indicted by a federal grand jury October 8 on one felony count of threatening the President of the United States. He is expected to appear in federal court later this week.

If convicted, this charge carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison and/or fines up to $250,000.
