
KSDK -- A couple from Hannibal, Missouri and a man from Springfield, Illinois pleaded guilty to passing counterfeit $20 and $10 bills, Acting US Attorney Michael W. Reap said Thursday.
According to court documents, 41-year-old Ronald Olivier passed a counterfeit $20 bill at a Dairy Queen in Bowling Green, Missouri on August 6. He was arrested a short time later. Further investigation revealed that Olivier was involved with a couple that had been passing counterfeit bills the day before at a Pickadilly store in Hannibal. They were eventually arrested.
The other two individuals, 27-year-old Sabrina Renee Inlow and 31-year-old Bobby Ray Waters, pleaded guilty October 15 to one felony count of conspiracy to make and pass counterfeit currency. Olivier pleaded guilty on October 13 to the same charge, plus an additional count of passing counterfeit currency.
Olivier will be sentenced on January 15, 2010; Inlow and Waters will be sentenced January 22, 2010.
The conspiracy charge carries a possible five-year prison term and/or $250,000 in fines. Each count of passing counterfeit bills carries a maximum 20-year sentence and/or fines up to $250,000.
