MSD to host meetings for reducing sewer overflow

KSDK -- The St. Louis Metropolitan Sewer District hosted an open house at New City School to discuss the $1.9 billion plan to protect local waterways.

The goal is improve water quality by reducing the amount of sewage that overflows into rivers, creeks and streams from sewers during moderate and heavy rainstorms.

The plan calls for building new wastewater infrastructure and more environmentally friendly practices.

Several other open houses are planned. The dates and times are listed below.

Wednesday, October 28 - Walbridge Elementary School Cafeteria, 5000 Davison Ave., St. Louis, MO 63120

Wednesday, November 4 - Chesterfield City Hall, 690 Chesterfield Parkway, Chesterfield, MO 63017

Thursday, November 5 - Florissant Valley Community College Student Center, 3400 Pershall Road, St. Louis, MO 63135

Monday, November 9 - Heights Community Center, 8001 Dale Avenue, Richmond Heights, MO 63117

Tuesday, November 10 - St. Lucas Lutheran Church Gymnasium, 7100 Morganford Rd., St. Louis, MO 63116

(Note: All open houses are scheduled from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.)
