Classes at Silver Creek Elementary and Henning Elementary boxed and wrapped pumpkins in materials hoping to protect them during the fall. The firefighters dropped the pumpkins from a 100 foot ladder truck as the students cheered them on.
The 19th annual pumpkin drop coincides with national Red Ribbon Week and its theme to bash out drugs.
A trophy will be presented to the school which has the least amount of broken pumpkins.
