KSDK --  World renowned televangelist Joyce Meyer may be forced to take the stand in the civil suit against accused killer Chris Coleman.

The family of Sheri Coleman and her two boys say Joyce Meyer Ministries could have possibly prevented the murders.

The family is already suing Chris Coleman, the man charged with the killings. They're trying to add Joyce Meyer Ministries to that lawsuit.

A judge in Waterloo, Illinois was supposed to hear arguments Monday regarding the Ministry being added to the suit. That hearing has been pushed back because the lawyer representing Sheri Coleman's family wants to speak to Joyce Meyer and several of her employees.

Chris Coleman served as security for Joyce Meyer Ministries for several years.

Police say Coleman of Columbia Illinois, killed his wife and two kids back in May and tried to cover up the crime by sending threatening letters to himself saying his family was in danger because he worked for Meyer.

The victims' family contends the ministry new about the threatening letters but did not investigate to figure out where they were coming from. Something the Ministry disputes.

So now, Joyce Meyer may be forced to come into court next month and testify about what she did or did not know.

"I'll have to take the deposition first and if I think the deposition is sufficient I am not going to force them to take the stand. But if I think there is something in the deposition that may be used for credibility purposes or impeachment purposes, I may call them to the stand for that purpose," Said Enrico Mirabelli, Sheri Coleman's cousin and lawyer representing family.

We believe that ultimately, there's no doubt about the fact that the Ministry didn't do anything wrong," Michael King said, lawyer for Joyce Meyer Ministries.

If Joyce Meyer does have to take the stand it will most likely be at the next court date which is on December 18th.
