KSDK -- A big announcement Wednesday for thousands of St. Louis County residents interested in the H1N1 vaccine.
Health department officials will announce the first public vaccination clinics; they could begin as early as this weekend.
Also new today, for the first time school districts in St. Charles County will be distributing the vaccine to their students.
Five school districts including Francis Howell, will be receiving doses of H1N1 vaccine.
Hollenbeck Middle School will be the site for flu mist on Saturday from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. The vaccine will be administered on a first come-first-served basis.
Officials recommend that target groups receive the first doses.
CFO Kevin Supple says the district is expecting an additional shipment later this week. The county health department says it's ordered 78-hundred doses for schools and other institutions.
The four school other districts that will receive doses this week are Fort Zumwalt, Wentzville and St. Charles.
Also, the Kirkwood School district in St. Louis County will offer vaccinations at North Kirkwood Middle School on Thursday, November 5.
