The Cahokia, Illinois airport conducted the drill to test the ability of area emergency responders to coordinate efforts during a crisis.
In the drill, an airline belonging to an imaginary airline is forced to make an emergency landing.
35 passengers are on board and the plane bursts into flames as it lands.
Emergency workers freed the passengers and put out the fire. The exercise is required by the Federal Aviation Administration.
