SAYREVILLE, N.J. (AP) -- Authorities say a Seton Hall University men's basketball player was drunk when he caused a wrong-way crash on the Garden State Parkway.
Keon Lawrence was charged with driving while intoxicated and driving with a suspended license.
State Police Sgt. Stephen Jones says the 22-year-old drove the wrong way in the southbound express lanes near Sayreville and hit another vehicle early Monday.
Lawrence and the driver of the other car were treated for minor injuries.
The junior guard transferred from the University of Missouri in 2008. He was ineligible to play last season.
Seton Hall says it's still gathering information about the incident.
Lawrence told The Record of Bergen County he had been in an accident, but denied that he had been charged with driving while intoxicated.
