KSDK -- Jefferson County prosecutors filed charges against two people in connection to the murder of Chester Scherer.
Sheriff Oliver "Glenn" Boyer said Kenneth J. Ritrovato, Jr. was charged with murder and armed criminal action. Angela Parke was charged with tampering with physical evidence in felony prosecution.
Investigators said Scherer was last seen alive at a party on August 7 with Ritrovato, Jr. and Parke and found his body on August 31 around Upper Plattin Road in rural DeSoto. They said he had been stabbed to death.
"Evidently there was an on-going conflict between Mr. Scherer and Mr. Ritrovato," said Sheriff Boyer. "At some time during the party we believe they went off, separated from the party and it's our opinion that's where the homicide took place."
Ritrovato, Jr. was being held with no bond on previous federal charges and Parke was being held on a $7,500 cash only bond.
