DESLOGE, Mo. (AP) -- A Farmington, Missouri soldier who died in Iraq is being remembered with a basketball court dedicated in his name.

Army Staff Sgt. Michael Deason of Desloge was killed in August 2006 when his convoy was attacked.

Ashley Deason was looking for a way to honor her brother and remembered that he enjoyed playing basketball at Desloge Park. The Park Hills Daily Journal reported Thursday that she asked community officials for permission to renovate the basketball court in her brother's honor.

Sgt. Deason served with the 101st Airborne Division. He was married and had two children.
