McKendree coach Harry Statham gets 1,000th win

KSDK -- When Friday night began, there was only one college basketball coach from a four year school to ever win 1,000 games.

But now Patt Summitt from Tennessee has company. He is Harry Statham from McKendree College in Lebanon, Illinois.

Friday night, the Bearcats drilled East-West University out of Chicago 79 to 49.

Statham is 72. He looks like he is 52 and has the same energy he had when he was 42.

Statham was honored by every dignitary in the area and in true Statham fashion... he was thinking about the next game.
